Module 3 A fair to go Cuckoo about

Module 4 Save the Whales

         Ideas worth spreading, especially when you consider that such mature and wise thoughts about modern living or environmental issues may actually change our world. Well, ideas and dreams may sometimes have an incredible and stupendous effect on people's lives.

         For this very reason, classmates and I were given the task to go and share the information. There were five main topics, which we were supposed to unite into the one educational and enlightening speech. There were: environmental issues and nature, modern living, dreams and goals, literature and, finally, health.

         First and foremost, I've shared information about the National Park, called Tsingy Bemaraha. I said that with such a tremendous collection of species under its care, The Madagascan government had set aside about fifty areas of special interest as national parks. Secondly, I told everyone that humpback whales were under the threat of extinction, due to some environmental problems, such as oil pollution or water pollution. Moreover, the information about eco-tourism, signs of the times and the London Marathon was shared. In short, people make choices every day. It really depends on different factors, time, money, ego or feelings are the most obvious ones, but we should always choose for the best. I said that people were the only one, who were responsible to choose to be brave and have a strong will power, to be eco-friendly and to move with the times. 

         In addition, I insisted on reading more books, which, literally, reflect our problems and predict the future. For instance, I told that Baley's boss in the science-fiction book called "The Caves of Steel" was the only one, who believed that we shouldn't stay away from nature. Surprisingly, but history teacher warned me not to become a modern-style addict. It's quite sensible that we need to be in contact with nature and don't let robots into our everyday life. 

         All in all, I said to them that people had been living egotistically for a long time. Anyway, we need remain sensible in any situation.

- Hello, mate! I'm about to visit a bookshop, where Stephen King will present his new book called "The Langoliers"!

-Hey! I have never been keen on any horror stories, but, anyway, can you tell me something about Stephen King's books? I am looking forward to exploring new artist and his masterpiece.

-It's a pleasure. I can say without any the least hesitation that I am fond of his work. Frankly speaking, he is a master of scaring as he is a king of scaring.

-Sounds awesome. What about "The Langoliers"?

-Without a doubt, all readers feel and understand the plot differently. To my mind, the plot as the one about the waste of time. The main idea is unusual and kind of educational. 

- What is the best part of this book?

- The thing I like the most is the number of different characters who differ from one another in their social status, way of thinking, their fears and ambitions. 

- I adore such educational and breathtaking books!

-It's quite evident that it teaches us to value our time and to remain sensible in any situation.

-I'm definitely interested! Can you send me exact information about the visit?

-Sure! See you there, mate!

Special Event During the Environment Week (p.115, Task 2)

                 You might not know this, but the special event during the Environment Week is being held at the school. Frankly speaking, there are just four options: a clean up the park/beach day, a workshop on how to make homes more environmentally friendly, morning planting plants in the local park, an afternoon collecting money for a local environmental. 

          Actually, I am easily carried away by any unusual activity or something innovative. However, a cleanup day isn't the best choice if we want to attract as many people as we can. Moreover, there is absolutely no chance that we will be capable of doing something like a workshop, especially when you consider that only children are involved. They will probably fail such an intense and intricate task.

          Nevertheless, we still have two fascinating and enlighting ways to organize the event. As we all know: as you sow, you shall mow. Gardening is believed to be one of the most relaxing hobbies, children always get excited about planting flowers like tulips, camomiles or daffodils. Actually, this isn't something I have ever considered but in short, I suppose I would possibly take part in such an event, especially if I were provided with the chance to do this. Without any the least hesitation, I would definitely organize the morning planting plants in the local park. First and foremost, it's easy as ABC so the whole school can be involved. Secondly, plants will make radical changes to our local environment. 

         All in all, I consider it reasonable to say that tasted differ and so many men - so many minds. I am ready to organize each event, but I'd rather fall for planting. 

Modern Living

      First and foremost, I'd rather describe modern life as a century of specialization. Looked at from the standpoint of the social system, the aim of specialization may seem desirable enough. The aim is to see that the responsibilities are given into the hands of the most skilled, best-prepared people. For this reasons, there are an enormous amount of professionals in all spheres of life these days.

        I can't help saying that technology and science developed tremendously. It's basically what makes life modern and unique. Nanotechnology is a real breakthrough, which is being used in medicine. There is even speculation that materials can be developed that will allow machines to repair themselves in much the same way that the human body does. Nevertheless, we should always keep in mind that there are specific barriers, which we need to respect. For instance, there is no doubt, that we need to control robots and don't let them in our personal life. Machines are machines. Those are the thoughts of Baley's boss from the science-fiction book called "Caves of Steel" by Isaac Asimov. It is a soul that makes people be sensible and emotional, we just shouldn't get away from it. 

        So many men, so many minds. Speaking of real modern life, we can't but say that it's necessary to take into account some personal sides of the topic, which have been around for centuries, such as happiness and bravery. To some extent, both happiness, and bravery have changed in the new lifestyle, but the sense has always been the same - caring and sharing. To be more precise, happiness is not about money or fame, being happy means being grateful, accepting and filled with positive emotions. Speaking of bravery, I'd like to illustrate my words and give an example. Professor Leonid Roshan is truly a modern hero, he spent a tremendous amount of time to become a pediatric surgeon. Moreover, He devoted his career to help people and share kindness. 

       Overall, I bet that the majority of people have a positive outlook on the future. We all feel radical changes, and if we stay conscious and sensible, we will build a great and flabbergasting future.

Cinema

      Cinema as a way of entertainment has been around for almost a century. Nevertheless, we should definitely keep in mind that a theatre has always been a source of inspiration for different movies. However, a majority of people would rather choose to watch a movie than to visit a theatre. Moreover, theatre performances take more time, but it's quite interesting to consider that going to the theatre is more entertaining to some extent. 

          In addition, people used to create huge performances and the theatre was such a big deal before television has appeared. Therefore, black-and-white films grabbed the attention of the public as a spectacular movement in the culture. Furthermore, it turned out to be some sort of culture shock and the breakthrough in this sphere of life led to the Golden Age of Cinema. 

          Nowadays, there are not only multiplex cinemas, but modern equipment and innovations like 3D and 4D movies. You might not know this, but a development in the film and movie industry led to high ticket prices for brand-new films, which are not affordable for some people.

          Speaking about acceptance of the film industry. Needless to say that different people prefer different films, especially according to the age of the audience. Moreover, there are no usual preferences, some films just not to everyone's tastes. 

          All in all, film industry is going to develop for a long time. I can't even imagine what kinds of movies we are going to enjoy in the future. 

My own Radio station

          Needless to say that there is quite a mixed variety and an extensive diversity of media centers in the world. Media is the way all people communicate outside of stereotypes about nation, religion and race. To be quite honest, media can provide unity only if it contains reliable, truthful information. That's exactly what I am going to do. Literally, I'm going to make my own radio station called "UniTED". 

         "UniTED" will be all about Ideas Worth Spreading, that is why we're going to partner with TEDTalk. It may sound sort of strange and even a bit crazy I guess, but this radio podcast is going to make difference in people's lifes through the power of words. For this reason our logo is doing to look like enormous abbreviation "TED" and in the center of the word there will be a lighiting, in case to symbolize the valuable power of spoken words. 

          Frankly speaking, it's not complicated to make it attractive to all generations, due to the fact that we can decipher any topic. Whether the topic is closely connected with science or design, our speakers will  put any topic into the simple words. 

          In addition, "UniTED" will include a daily programm, called "BooksEra". This programm could help you to educate and relax. There will be several speakers and a huge amount of sensible, unique audiobooks.  

          Furhtermore, our smart radio station will include not only speeches, but music, which will help you to energise. So we can kill two birds with one stone.

Food, Health and Safety

             As for the healthy lifestyle, I suspect that the most important is nutrition. Food also provides the nutrients that the body needs to function and maintain itself. These nutrients are proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, vitamins and water. Needless to say that balanced meals could protect people from a lot of diseases. For instance, Makato Okushima from Okinawa is one hundred years old. The secret to her health was a healthy, low-fat diet, slowly eating in case to savour the food. Moreover, active lifeway is important as well as nutrition. This is due to the fact that active lifeway prevents you of getting fat.  The body uses fats to maintain its temperature and to cushion organs, however, oversaturation of fats is dangerous.  There are some sensible pieces of advice, which are useful to apply for your life.

            First and foremost, we know that eating a good breakfast helps us to learn better and work more efficiently, and it gives us the energy to keep on playing when other go home exhausted. We know all this and yet most of us run out of the house every morning after only a hurried cup of coffee or a rushed glass of milk. Furthermore, it might lead to a larger problems. Therefore, it's time to make traditional breakfast a more regular feature of our daily routine. Whether you're from Great Britain or Russia ,you can always have a cup of tea and some kind of meal, which is full of protein and carbs.

            Secondly, other main factor is a freshness of the food. Food goes bad because of some factors: temperature in which the food is stored, Ph scale and amount of harmful micro organisms, such as bacterias, moulds and yeasts. Nevertheless, if you are familiar with this factors, you will be able to prevent the deterioration of the food.

          Thirdly, eating is not just a physical process, it's a mental activity. There are a lot of dreadful deseases, which are closely connected with eating disorder. I'd like to give example in case to illustrate my words,  Anorexia nervosa is a condition that typically affects teenage girls. It happens because of the media, that uses underweight models in adverts in glossy magazines. This factor makes young women to equate thinnes with beauty, glamour and success.The way to recovery is usually devastating and exhausting.

            To sum up, the quality of life is closely connected with nutriton. It's complicated to stick with a healthy diet. However, despite all the hard work that you need to come through, you should keep in mind that health is above wealth and reputation.
