Almost everyone is
dreaming about getting their GPA a little bit higher. Why is that? Ivy
League schools, dream jobs, and a desirable future are based on education. The
question is: what do top students do that they are able to reach goals and
become profoundly more and more successful? Well, here is a little guide for
you:
1. Time-
management is everything. Top students schedule not only their working hours
but a time for sleep, relaxing, outdoor activities too. If you just study
non-stop, you'll be insane and unhealthy by the end of the week, take my word
for it.
2.
Writing to-do lists and setting priorities might help you with overwhelming
studying. There is no way that all subjects are equally important for the
future. As Douglas Barton said: "Don't just aim to work hard". You
need to be equipped both technically (theoretically) and practically.
Basically, better to practice more but with a smart technique.
3. Hold on to
your notes. Taking notes is an underestimated method of studying. However,
top students take notes. Not only they structurize them but
also they revise them once in a while. What's a better way to remember?
4. Study
place is important. Students usually don't mind subconscious distractions
such as social media, friends' texts, videos of favorite vloggers. It goes on
and on. Students should manage a study place more mindfully. Get rid of any
unnecessary distractions. Try to stay present, that's a magical pill to your
success - concentration.
All those A+
students skills have a tendency to confuse new-comers. For this very reason,
here's a list of something you should not do:
1. Multitask.
How many times did you catch yourself watching a movie while trying to solve
some math problems? Plenty, I bet. Try to pay attention to one thing at a time.
If it's too unbearable for you, you might start with just quite music, then go
to absolute silence, in order to get your focus to the top.
2. Failing is
okay. They say: "Every failure is a stop success". You need to learn
from your mistakes, not to be damaged by them. It doesn't sound easy but the
first step to this kind of mindset is - don't be too harsh on yourself, accept
yourself as a human being (who is capable of making mistakes) and not a
robot.
3. "Due
tasks" are really due to the date! What a shock! Even though teachers
sometimes ignore late-assigned works, you better do them in time. If you can
schedule homework, you can schedule anything. Just try and DO THIS.
Keep going,
my fellow students. I'm here with you, trying to keep up with school life,
applications, and exam stress. You're not alone, so get up, and try to be a
better person every day.
